What a Contractors Main Marketing Priority Should Be…

Some may disagree with this line of thinking, but in today’s day and age of technology and instant information this needs to be considered…

A contractors main marketing priority needs to be their online reputation and the impression that their website leaves people with.  Why you ask?  Because ALL other advertising and marketing that you do, even referrals and word of mouth ends up with the consumer looking you up online.  Sometimes from a computer, usually from a smart phone these days, but no matter how, just know, they do look you up…

They want to see your online reviews on various websites, they want to see what your website looks like, how professional you look, they want to see pictures of your past jobs, before and after pictures, testimonials on your website of what your clients have had to say about you.  They are sizing you up and making all of these observations about you AND your competition.

So what do that do with what they find?  The bottom line is that your website and presence online is either going to sell you and your company or it is going to drive them towards your competition.  I am sure you are aware if what you have out there is well thought out with a polished appearance or if your online reviews are bad, good or nonexistent.

The good new is, all of this are things you can work on improving.  If you have the time, most of it you can choose to do yourself.  For example, when it comes to reviews, once jobs are completed and your customer is on a high with their brand new kitchen, you can send them an email or a text with a link to your google profile or yelp or where ever else you need to build positive online reviews and ask they to review your work.  You can provide some sort of an incentive like a cleaning product (or something else that will provide further value to the work you did) if you installed hardwood floors for example as a gift to thank them for reviewing you.  It really is that simple but you need to do it consistently…
